About Us

Jarrod and Misty Fontanini started Curbin' Cuisine in May 2013 with just a food cart at the Beaverdale Farmer's Market & Beaverdale Fall Festival. Over the next several years, Curbin' Cuisine grew more popular & was repeatedly requested by numerous businesses & event coordinators in Des Moines & in surrounding towns. Jarrod has been a chef since he was 15 years old. He is 100% self-taught with a degree in Graphic Design. He has done private caterings for George W. Bush & the Secret Service; the original SHARK himself Kevin Sherlock; as well as Singer Songwriters such as Thomas Rhett, Scotty McCreery, Colt Ford, Dustin Lynch, Toby Keith & many more. He brings unique flavors to Globally Inspired dishes. Misty has an Associates Degree in Business Marketing & helps run the back end, day to day functions of the business. In January 2015 they expanded their business to a fully equipped Food Truck. This allowed them to go to more locations for lunches, dinners & special events. Curbin' Cuisine was a featured food vendor at several Des Moines & surrounding area events: Beaverdale Fall Festival, Johnston Green Days, Grimes Governor Days, Des Moines Arts Festival, World Food & Music Festival, DSM Social Club's Food Truck Throwdown, 80/35, 515 Alive, Indianola Balloon Classic, ChristKindlMarket & many more. In 2018 & 2019 they were voted into the Top Three Best of the Best Food Trucks by CityView. October 2019 their dream to have a brick & mortar became a reality. The Fontanini's get to return ''home'' to Beaverdale where it all began for them.
