LSI (Lutheran Services in Iowa) is proud to celebrate the official transition of leadership of the Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families with a public ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Effective July 1, 2026, LSI assumed operations of the Center, marking the beginning of a new chapter for an organization that has served as a cornerstone of opportunity, workforce development, financial empowerment, and family support for Central Iowa residents since opening in 2012.
One of Iowa's largest human services organizations, LSI impacts thousands of Iowans each year through child abuse prevention, services for children and families, supports for people with disabilities, and immigrant and refugee services. Nationally accredited, LSI proudly serves people of all ages, abilities, religions, sexes, gender identities, national origins, ethnicities, races, and sexual orientations.
Under LSI's leadership, the Center will continue providing its core programs while exploring opportunities for growth, long-term sustainability, and deeper collaboration with community partners. The transition prioritizes continuity of services, respect for the Center's legacy, and a shared vision for expanding impact across the community.
The Center will continue to proudly carry the name of Evelyn K. Davis, whose legacy as a trailblazing advocate and champion for underserved communities continues to inspire its mission.
The future of the Center has been shaped through a values-driven process grounded in community voice, accountability, and transparency—principles that closely align with LSI's mission and commitment to strengthening Iowa communities.
