Salisbury House SHAKESPEARE ON THE LAWN presents Macbeth Our most popular event of the year! Performed by Iowa Stage Theatre Co., William Shakespeare’s Macbeth will come to life under the stars with the majestic south terrace and gardens as the backdrop. The tragedy is set primarily in Scotland, and follows the character of Macbeth, a bold Scottish general, as he becomes power-hungry and demented with political ambition. Shakespeare brilliantly portrays Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's downward spiral as they struggle with the punishing physical and psychological effects of greed. DOORS OPEN AT 6:00 PM. Performance each night 7:30-10:00 pm Salisbury House will have lawn chairs set up but if you would rather use your folding chair you are welcome to switch ours out with yours. Salisbury House will have beer and wine for purchase. Valley West Hy-Vee will be selling hot dogs, brats, burgers, chips, soda, water and snacks. Over the Top will be selling Homemade Ice Cream.
